As I tried to get a better understanding of the Six Sigma methodology that was developed by Motorola in the mid-1980's I felt like it was important to share some of that information with my cyber friends. It explores certain parameters denoted as DMAIC - define; measure; analyze; improve; control.
The suggestion is that we use this methodology when:
- the causes or the situations are unknown;
- the problems are common place and not well defined;
- other problem solving methods have failed; or
- the situation is complex and have may variables
